Good Upgrade.

The Madstad windshield performs as advertised. With the screen in the tallest position wind turbulence is minimal even on the highway behind traffic. The install took some time to get it right. The metal support base needed contouring to fit the attachments and the 6M fasteners used to attach the brackets to the base were not included in my kit. One quick trip to the hardware store for some stainless steel replacements and the job was done. The Madstad wind shield is the best I have tried so far on the f800.

No more buffeting!

This is the third windscreen I've tried to reduce the buffeting at highway speeds. The stock windscreen was useless and the Yamaha touring screen, although an improvement, was still allowing more turbulence then I desired. Purchased the Madstad after recommendations from a fellow rider and took advantage of a 20% discount. Immediate improvement! Althoug the screen is unremarkable in its design, (looks like an old Vespa screen), with the winglets installed it prevents buffeting! I am 74 inches tall and sit tall in the saddle. I ordered the tallest screen.

Great Windshield

I installed the adjustable windshield on my wife's Royal Enfield INT650 and she loves it. It was very easy to install and adjust.

I gave it 4-stars because some of the mounting screws were too long. A couple of the holes on the INT650's triple clamps were blind holes, and the bolts supplied bottomed out. I had to get new bolts that were a bit longer than stock, but not as long as the ones in the kit.

Kind of works well… when it works

Firstly, I’m not sure why this design made it into production. The screws that hold the adjustment in place simply do not keep the windshield in the set position, no matter how hard I torque them. I can’t imagine this is an impossible problem to solve, and now I’m going to have to DIY one myself.

Speaking of DIY, I was a little bit let down by the wind protection. I measured and I still got a bunch of turbulence on my helmet, and the angle of the screen got in the way of my DMD tablet mounted above the gauge display on my BMW F750GS. I was able to solve both issues by putting a bunch of rubber washers stacked against the upper mounting screws of the windshield, but it’s not ideal. I’ll add that I had the above issue with the adjustment before I added those additional washers, so it’s not a matter of increased wind resistance.

The side deflectors do work quite well, however, keeping wind off my chest, and I really like the OEM+ look.

Here's the troubleshooting steps to keep your knobs tightened:

- The metal coned portion of the knob, which inserts into the bracket, should not be visible at all when properly tightented. This means the black part of the knob will be COMPLETELY flush with the bracket surface - with no space between them.

- You'll notice scalloped or rounded areas on the top part of the brackets. This is where the slightly coned metal portion of the knob must seat into.

- The easiest way to ensure this happens is to slightly wiggle the windshield while tightening the knob. You can check visually to see that it sits into the bracket scalloped slot.

Please contact us if you continue having issue with the knobs.

You may have noticed, but your Madstad F750GS kit includes a plate where you can mount a standard resevoir type ball mount. This allows you to have a custom mounting setup, rising up the back of the factory dispay panel. Other brands can also work, but we offer this complete setup from TackForm mounts: https://madstad.com/collections/motorcycle-mounts/products/tackform-enduro-series-perch-brake-clutch-reservoir-mount-single-ball

We're glad you are finding good results from the side deflectors and that you like the OEM+ look. If you think that the next size taller windshield will help, we have a 45 day period to purchase another size at 50% off (windshield only).
