  • Madstad Adjustable Windshield System for BMW G650GS (2009-2010)

    Transform your ride
Madstad's patented system allows riders to adjust the height and angle of their motorcycle windshield resulting in much smoother airflow, better wind protection and a more comfortable ride than any fixed windshield can provide.

    What's included
Our complete drop-in system is custom-made for the BMW G650GS (2009-2010) and includes everything needed to mount and position the shield. Your bike will not require any modification.

    • Black aluminum base plate (replaces the stock windshield)
    • A set of Madstad adjustable brackets
    • Acrylic windshield
    • All required mounting hardware

The Madstad base plate replaces your stock shield and our adjustable brackets bolt to this new base. With the shield separated from the fairing it scoops air up underneath which is critical for eliminating vacuum and turbulence. You can then adjust the new shield for height and angle to dial in the most comfortable airflow, allowing you to ride in total comfort while looking over the top of the shield at any speed.

All Madstad windshields are made from 3/16" (4.5 mm) thick cast acrylic.

    Riding is believing
With the windshield separated from the fairing riders now have control over the height and angle of the shield to eliminate the vacuum that is the primary cause of most turbulence. The result? Smooth airflow placed exactly where it’s desired. Most customers have found that they can actually get better wind protection with our smaller adjustable shield rather than a larger fixed one. No longer must you compromise wind protection to enjoy the open-air motorcycling experience.

    Colors & sizing
All our windshields come in three color options (clear, medium gray and dark gray), as well as multiple sizes. Here are our best guidelines for measuring to find your optimal windshield size:

    How to measure video: https://youtu.be/biFx4_vVGG4

    1) Review provided photo to determine the measuring point on the bike.

    2) Measure up from the measuring point, maintaining the angle of the forks (two wheeled vehicles, 55-60 degrees for other models).

    3) Select the windshield size that will be aligned to mouth level.

All of our adjustable brackets have at least 2" of up down range to fine tune the fit and about 15 degrees of angle adjustment used to dial in clean air.

    Customer testimonial
"I have been testing it for a month and can fully recommend it. It is a vast improvement over my Cee Bailey's 20" as it can be adjusted up/down and tilted until you find that "sweet spot”. Coverage is excellent, this system is much more rigid and doesn't flop around like my Bailey did, and back pressure is eliminated because of the slot effect created between the plate and the windshield."

I'm 6'4". The 24" works perfectly on my V85. Being able to adjust the angle makes all the difference in reducing buffeting.

    Excellent fit and finish.

Everything bolted up nicely. Works great. I wish the screen was a little more narrow and it would be nice if there was an attachment for my GPS like on my Yamaha Tracer.

    Worth it!

I really like this windshield, makes riding a lot more comfortable; the only thing I would change is more vertical adjustment.

    Great as always

This is the 3rd Madstad windscreen I have purchased and like all the others it does a great job of controlling buffeting. The only thing that I am not perfectly keen on is the airflow up the arms. This screen tends to push airflow directly up the sleeve creating an air ballon in the shirt. Not terrible because of the current season but I have to guess it will be more problematic during colder temps. I noticed on the YouTube instructions that the original screen had wind deflectors of some sort that did not appear to be an option with this today. Maybe that would help with the issue not sure. All in all, it is most definitely 10 times better than the factory screen.

I want to first state the craftsmanship and fit is stellar, but I own a 2009 Triumph Tiger. I called customer support on a reference point to measure from. I was told that picture on the website was with the windshield in the lowest position, which is either a different design or wrong. I ordered an 18" which works alright, but a 20" would work better. The correct reference point to measure is in the attached picture.

“Before their install, I suffered from the constant, unmitigated buffeting at speeds above 40 mph. Now I can hear the engine, and that's a sound I like!"

“I have a stack of other windshields. I've bought over the years before I discovered the Madstad system, and none of them compare. Do yourself a favor and just buy the Madstad first!"

“Long rides at freeway speeds were the worst because of the buffeting. I installed the 18" Madstad screen, keeping it at the lowest setting, and the buffeting is gone. I now have a nice quiet air flow around my head and upper torso, regardless of speed.”
