Madstad Quick-Release Adjustable Windshield System for Triumph Thunderbird Storm (2011 & Up)

What's included
Our complete drop-in system requires no modification and includes everything needed to mount and position the shield:

  • Fork-mount quick-release base plates
  • Quick-detach adjustable windshield brackets
  • Touring windshield
  • All requires mounting hardware

Additional optional components:

  • Quick-detach lower deflectors (create a smoother ride)
  • Quick-detach fly screen (short dark sport screen)

The touring shield is positioned in front of your instrument cluster and the adjustable brackets allow you to set it for the most comfortable airflow depending on your particular height and riding position. Adjustability is critical for smooth comfortable wind protection while looking over the shield, not through it!

Removing or attaching the windshield simply takes a flip of two locking tabs then the brackets with shield slide right up off of the forks. Only a small bracket on each side is left behind (see photos). NOTE: The shield on the silver Storm is an 18 inch Light Gray, and on the red Storm is a 20 inch Light Gray. The fly screen is on a Rocket III but is just about identical on the Storm.

All Madstad windshields are made from 3/16"" (4.5 mm) thick cast acrylic.

Colors & sizing   How to measure video: https://youtu.be/biFx4_vVGG4

All our windshields come in three color options (clear, medium gray and dark gray), as well as multiple sizes. Here are our best guidelines for measuring to find your optimal windshield size:

1) Review provided photo to determine the measuring point on the bike.

2) Measure up from the measuring point, maintaining the angle of the forks (two wheeled vehicles, 55-60 degrees for other models).

3) Select the windshield size that will be aligned to mouth level.

All of our adjustable brackets have at least 2" of up down range to fine tune the fit and about 15 degrees of angle adjustment used to dial in clean air.

Transform your ride
Madstad’s patented adjustable shield system allows riders to adjust the height and angle of their motorcycle windshield resulting in much smoother airflow, better wind protection and a more comfortable ride than any fixed windshield can provide. Better still, this system is quickly detachable without tools so you can switch back and forth easily from touring shield to original bike

So far it's great

Have just a little over 200 miles after the windshield install. I like it and it works as advertised. It definitely helps with the wind and I can actually hear my stereo now. Install was a little confusing but I finally figured it out. 4 stars since I have yet to ride with it in the rain.

Very good after-sales service but average experience with the windshield

Transport: I had a bad surprise with the import taxes in France that UPS had increased, because of a problem of declaration made by Madstad, but the sales department of Madstad followed my request and refunded. Thank you for this good point.

average experience of use: - Windshield touches the handle protectors when the handlebar rotates fully. Unfortunattely is was not indicated, in the installation tutorial. - When riding, Windshield is noisy on the cobblestones while the screws are tight - But especially, Winshield is too far from the pilot and does not protect well from wind on the highway. If you tilt it, the air passes underneath. At the end, It is of course better thand Honda Windshield but not better than my previous Puig Touring Windshield.

Thank you for leaving your review Henri. We're very sorry that you had the import issue and are pleased to make that back up to you. Normally, handlebar contact is not an issue, so we'll be contacting you about solutions. In terms of performance, the bottom opening design is what provides clean airflow at high speeds. Generally, the height needs to be set so that the top edge is aligned to mouth level. The angle can be similar to that of the forks. If you have not already done so, please be methodical about your experiment - trying many possibilities. It can take a few rides at many differing angle/height combinations until you find the most relief from wind-buffeting pressures.

Thank you

A great, but sets up higher than I want

I bought this kit in case I wanted to install it. What I don't like is how high and close to the rider the bar is, at least in the pics anyway. After watching every install video I could find, I seen a post on a FB page where a guy showed how he installed bar in between the windscreen adjusting knobs on the Madstad windshield kit. I will try to use the bar in this kit, if the adjuster knobs are threaded the same, though I will have to shorten the bar by about 1/4"-3/8". I think this will be a cleaner install, and lower which will suit my preferences. I still think this is a good kit, I was just looking for a little tighter install. Some of my reasoning is I intend to use an iPad mini for navigation, and as large as that is, keeping the install with tight spacing will ensure I don't obscure too much windscreen.

Way more solid than stock!

Bought this windshield for my 2025 Pan Am CVO, it went on perfectly. So much more solid than stock. Not as easy to adjust, yet more adjustable. If you want a better windshield for your Pan Am, THIS is the one!

Review

The windshield has great quality and is very sturdy.

Issue is, I do not feel much difference in wind protection. I tried all 9 combinations of angle versus position of the shield and to me wind noise is present at all combinations same as before installing wind shield.

Thank you for leaving your review, Koorosh. Normally, our Rocket customers experience much better results. Let's see if we can't make that happen for you.

It sounds like you've tried many angle adjustments. We also recommend, if you have not already done so, to adjust the height of the windshield during the testing/dialing in rides. The top edge should be aligned to about mouth level, or slightly higher, to achieve the maximum results.

If you've raised the windshield to the highest setting, and the top edge is not high enough, then you won't get clean air. If you determine that your windshield is too short, we have a program where you can receive a taller size at 50% list pricing. This offer is extended for 45 days after you receive the windshield system. Please take a look at our FAQs page, topic #2 and contact us at support@madstad.com to order. You will not be sending anything back to us. Thank you, Madstad Support Team
