Madstad Adjustable Pivoting Windshield System for Triumph Rocket 3 R or GT (2020 & Up)

What's included
Our complete drop-in system requires no modification and includes everything needed to mount and position the shield:

  • Dash-mount pivoting windshield brackets BLACK POWDER COATED
  • Touring windshield
  • All required mounting hardware

In stock mode the shield is positioned down against the fairing, just like the stock shield on the Rocket 3 GT. You will still get wind protection like this because our shield is quite a bit larger than stock. The magic happens when you pull out two locking plungers which allows the system to pivot up and lock in the forward position. Now you can have highway comfort without turbulence, fully adjustable like all of our other systems. When tilting the brackets back down again there is no need to change the angle or height so you can instantly snap back to highway mode without any further adjustments.

Will our brackets work with the stock GT shield? Yes, but you can see in the photos how small that factory shield is (10" wide by 13-3/4" tall) so you won't get much wind protection out of it.

Madstad shield height above the gas tank:

18 inch shield: 15-17 inches
20 inch shield: 17-19 inches
22 inch shield: 19-21 inches
24 inch shield: 21-23 inches

Colors & sizing    How to measure video: https://youtu.be/biFx4_vVGG4

All our windshields come in three color options (clear, medium gray and dark gray), as well as multiple sizes. Here are our best guidelines for measuring to find your optimal windshield size:

1) Review provided photo to determine the measuring point on the bike.

2) Measure up from the measuring point, maintaining the angle of the forks (two wheeled vehicles, 55-60 degrees for other models).

3) Select the windshield size that will be aligned to mouth level.

All of our adjustable brackets have at least 2" of up down range to fine tune the fit and about 15 degrees of angle adjustment used to dial in clean air.

Transform your ride
Is it a laid-back flyscreen, or is it an upright touring shield? It's both! Madstad's new adjustable bracket system allows riders to keep the laid-back angle of the stock shield for around-town riding, or pivot and lock the shield forward for great highway wind protection. Either way you can adjust the height and angle of the shield for smooth airflow, better wind protection and a more comfortable ride than any fixed windshield can provide. It only takes seconds to snap the system from upright to laid back, and no tools are needed.

I’m impressed!

I recently purchased a, new to me 2019 Yamaha Tracer 900. It came with the stock windshield, which is a low windshield, allowing the helmet to take the full brunt of the wind. I wrote it like this for a couple weeks while my Madstad was in the works. The last full height windshield was a GIVI that I had on a Vstrom. The Madstad outperforms the other guy hands down. I’m impressed, good work guys.

Great screen

Took longer than I had hoped to receive my screen. Approximately one month. But it was worth the wait. Very well made and good looking product. And the quick release feature is very useful.

Too much buffeting

Installation was easy, adjustment were also easy - however, I was rather disappointed with the performance! I ordered the tallest windshield available for Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 - 22 inch. the height was fine and I was able to push the wind over my head - however whatever adjustments I made, I was not able to remove wind buffeting from the sides! At 50 mph and above, the wind was hitting the sides of my helmet creating terrible noise and shaking my head.
The windshield is not wide enough to effectively protect me! If it haven't been installed, I would return it, but now I am just down 300+ dollars for the product I cannot use.

Good Windshield w Center air deflector flaw

Well designed windshield and mounting hardware. Windshield was easy to install and feels very secure at highway speeds.

The Center air deflector however, drags across the top of the tank after installation on Honda CTX700N. Solution follows.

Go to Lowe's and purchase the following items:
1. TV Mounting Screw Kit ($6.98)
2. Flat and Lock Washer Assortment ($5.48)
Assemble the plastic washers on either side of the deflector and insert the long bolt in the original holes on the windshield bracket as shown below.

When trying to remove the nuts that were embedded in the deflector, the ears broke off. I did not have a jig saw, so purchased the Craftsman corded jig saw ($67.17) and 2 blades. (It did come with one blade in the box.)

Next, I measured across the handlebar opening and made two vertical cuts and two horizontal cuts to join up with the vertical. (6 1/8" x 1 3/8")
Cut part way into the vertical marks, then start from the sides and curve the horizontal cuts into the vertical.

Next, drill the holes in the deflector to match the holes in the windshield mounting bracket. Sandwich the deflector between the plastic pieces from the TV Mounting kit and mount to the bracket using the original holes.

This solution works surprisingly well, stopping most of the wind that rushes up between the forks and into your face. Hope this helps some of you.

We appreciate you leaving your review. We're glad that the installation was easy and that you find the unit secure.

Regarding the center deflector, likely yours was sent not bent enough at the original tabs. Normally there are no issues with clearing the fuel tank. We apologize for the inconvenience, and we'll be shipping you out a replacement deflector.

Thank you,
Madstad Support Team

Honda VT1100T

Sorry this is so late, been riding,,, I have been running a Madstad original Road Glide shield on top of the Clearview replacement for my ACE Tourer factory shield since about 2011 or so iirc. It works! I did have to remove the fork lowers and add deflectors to the engine guard instead, forcing air up into the area behind the factory shield. This combo works great. 70 in an open-face helmet feels like 35 used to and I do look over it. I have Madstad shields on my other two bikes also.
