Madstad Adjustable Windshield System for your BMW R1200GS (2004 - 2012)

Transform your ride
Madstad's patented mounting system allows riders to adjust the height and angle of their motorcycle windshield resulting in much smoother airflow, better wind protection and a more comfortable ride than any fixed windshield can provide.

What's included
Our complete drop-in system is custom-made for your bike and includes everything needed to mount and position the shield. Your bike will not require any modification.

  • A set of Madstad adjustable brackets
  • Acrylic windshield
  • All required mounting hardware

Our unique easy-adjust brackets attach to the side plates where your factory windshield angle adjustment knobs are located, and they won't get in the way of aftermarket side deflectors. With the shield fully separated from the front of the bike you can adjust it for the optimum height, angle and airflow which is critical for smooth comfortable wind protection. The smooth profile and extra width of our windshield also contributes to a more comfortable ride than any other windshield can provide.

All Madstad windshields are made from 3/16" (4.5 mm) thick cast acrylic.

Riding is believing
With the windshield separated from the bike riders now have control over the height and angle of the shield to eliminate the vacuum that is the primary cause of most turbulence. The result? Smooth airflow placed exactly where it’s desired. You can actually get better wind protection with our smaller adjustable shield and look over it rather than through it while comfortably enjoying an open view of the road, at any speed.

Colors & sizing
All our windshields come in three color options (clear, medium gray and dark gray), as well as multiple sizes. Here are our best guidelines for measuring to find your optimal windshield size:

How to measure video: https://youtu.be/biFx4_vVGG4

1) Review provided photo to determine the measuring point on the bike.

2) Measure up from the measuring point, maintaining the angle of the forks (two wheeled vehicles, 55-60 degrees for other models).

3) Select the windshield size that will be aligned to mouth level.

All of our adjustable brackets have at least 2" of up down range to fine tune the fit and about 15 degrees of angle adjustment used to dial in clean air.

Works well on my 2024 T120

I wanted good wind control for highway use on my 2024 Bonneville T120. I tried another windshield, which honestly looked a little more retro and was a little less expensive, but it didn't work as well as I wanted. I'm 6'1" and have a tall torso, so I need something pretty tall. I purchased the Madstad 24 inch windshield with the lower deflectors. It was easy to install and is easy to remove. I appreciate the adjustability and was able to dial it in to eliminate the helmet buffeting that was present with the first windshield. I placed the top of the windshield at the level of the tip of my nose. I look over the windshield while riding and enjoy good wind protection. The windshield and hardware seem well designed and high quality.

I'll do my best to give an honest review

I have a MadStad system on my 2009 V Strom and once you have it dialed in that's it no more adjusting. This is why I decided to go with MadStad again on my 2021 V Strom, the hole system takes about an hour to install and adjust for initial set up. Today is the first day I have ridden with the system and have already made two adjustments. So far so good. I'm not to fond of the frosting at the bottom of the windscreen, this is done to prevent the head light from reflecting on the screen. I haven't ridden at night, but when I started my bike in the garage the frosted area lit up white. I'm thinking of possibly painting the frosted area or applying some type of window tinting. Other than that I'm happy with the MadStad system and I'm sure it will get better once I go through the trial and error of fine tuning it for my riding style. As for giving three stars, let's just say in my case, MadStad had some issues with bracket quality control which set me installation back 10 days. I realize this is probably not the norm but in my case it was a reality.

Great Replacement

Had something large enough to cause a 2" diameter star in the original 22". So ordered a 20" replacement, works as designed, great windscreen.

Finally A Windshield That Fits

After trying to locate the right windshield for my 2024 Triumph Speedmaster I finally found the Madstad website and was able to order a custom one for my bike. It sure makes a difference when you ride into a swarm of bees! The ride is much more enjoyable having a windshield. The construction is top of the line and easy to install.

2024 T100 - great fit, easy install

Install was straightforward, a little confusing until I actually read the guide. I thought I might have got a little too tall, but ended up liking the highest position, set to just about the max vertical angle.

Was previously uncomfortable at 60-65 mph, now cruising about 80 mph without even needing ear plugs. Had some very gusty days lately and it’s been great.
