madstad-windsheild-slider-1 madstad-windsheild-slider-1 Harley Batwing Fairing FLHT/FLHX Windshield System By Madstad

Madstad Adjustable Windshield System for Harley-Davidson Batwing Fairing FLHT/FLHX (1996 - 2013)

What's included
Our complete drop-in system is custom-made for your bike and includes everything needed to mount and position the shield. Your bike will not require any modification.

  • Black aluminum base plate (like a shorty shield)
  • Madstad adjustable brackets
  • The acrylic front windshield

A black aluminum base plate replaces the stock shield and supports the adjustable brackets. With the shield separated from the front of the bike, you can now adjust it for the optimum height, angle and airflow. This lets you set the shield for your particular height and riding position while pulling lots of air underneath it which is critical for smooth comfortable wind protection.

Colors & sizing
All our windshields come in three color options (clear, medium gray and dark gray), as well as multiple sizes. Here are our best guidelines for measuring to find your optimal windshield size:

1) Review provided photo to determine the measuring point on the bike.

2) Measure up from the measuring point, maintaining the angle of the forks (two wheeled vehicles, 55-60 degrees for other models).

3) Select the windshield size that will be aligned to mouth level.

All of our adjustable brackets have at least 2" of up down range to fine tune the fit and about 15 degrees of angle adjustment used to dial in clean air.

Transform your ride
Madstad's patented mounting system separates the shield from the Batwing Fairing, resulting in much smoother airflow, far less turbulence and a more comfortable ride. Our adjustable brackets allow riders to adjust the height and angle of the shield to dial in the smoothest possible ride so you can look over the shield, not through it, even at highway speeds.

Very good at blocking wind

Based on reviews I expected a well designed and well engineered windshield for my V-Strom 650 and it lived up to my expectations. The OEM windshield was aweful and the first one I used to replace it was not much better. Both were too narrow, especially in the lower section, and both were angled to create significant backdraft around my torso. The wider body and the adjustable angle feature of the Madstad made all the difference in that regard. Cudos also to their customer service. My initial measurements were off so I took advantage of their 50% off replacement offer to purchase a slightly taller windscreen and the folks at Madstad made this quick and easy. I am very satisfied with my purchase and I recommend Madstad windshields highly.

Excellent product and service

A couple months back I bought a competitors windshield for my 2011 Bonneville SE. No matter how I adjusted it, the wind buffeting was horrible. I decided to bite the bullet. And by the Madstad. It took a little over a month to get it, but it was worth the wait. The installation was the easiest I’ve ever experienced. I set the angle to 60 degrees, and it was perfect on the very first ride. No need for further adjustment. The buffeting is gone.

20" madstad on '18 bmw gs adv.

recently, i bought a ’18 bmw GS adv.
it had a number plate sized windshield and i wanted a real windshield, after coming off a bmw RT.

i found madstad and liked the design of it. smooth versus the stock or puig with the creases in it. i ordered the 20” as i am 5’11” (inseam 30”).

while having installed, the dealership had a used gs with a puig and begged to ride it just to test the windshield. it was good.

riding the madstad since, i love it. i have it adjusted so that i am just looking over the top. i can ride at any speed with my helmet visor up and zero helmet buffeting. 10 out of 10.

Took a few minutes tweaking the brackets to get everything lined up but mounting was pretty straightforward…very happy with the improvement in air flow… much more comfortable riding now 😬
