Madstad's patented mounting system allows riders to adjust the height and angle of their motorcycle windshield resulting in much smoother airflow, better wind protection and a more comfortable ride than any fixed windshield can provide.
What's included
Our complete drop-in system is custom-made for your bike and includes everything needed to mount and position the shield. Your bike will not require any modification.
- Black aluminum base plate (replaces the stock windshield)
- Madstad adjustable brackets
- Acrylic windshield
- All required mounting hardware
The Madstad base plate replaces your stock shield, and our adjustable brackets bolt to this new base. With the shield separated from the fairing, it scoops air up underneath which is critical for eliminating vacuum and turbulence. You can then adjust the new shield for height and angle to dial in the most comfortable airflow, allowing you to ride in total comfort while looking over the top of the shield at any speed.
All Madstad windshields are made from 3/16" (4.5 mm) thick cast acrylic.
Riding is believing
With the windshield separated from the fairing riders now have control over the height and angle of the shield to eliminate the vacuum that is the primary cause of most turbulence. The result? Smooth airflow placed exactly where it’s desired. Most customers have found that they can actually get better wind protection with our smaller adjustable shield rather than a larger fixed one. You don't have to compromise wind protection to enjoy the open-air motorcycling experience!
Colors & sizing
All our windshields come in three color options (clear, medium gray and dark gray), as well as multiple sizes. Here are our best guidelines for measuring to find your optimal windshield size:

1) Review provided photo to determine the measuring point on the bike.
2) Measure up from the measuring point, maintaining the angle of the forks (two wheeled vehicles, 55-60 degrees for other models).
3) Select the windshield size that will be aligned to mouth level.
All of our adjustable brackets have at least 2" of up down range to fine tune the fit and about 15 degrees of angle adjustment used to dial in clean air.

Was easy to install, just what I needed for longer more comfortable rides.

I am 6'2" and the shield is perfect. I can now hear my helmet speakers and still get a nice breeze. The assembly can be intimidating, but I took it one step at a time and it wasn't difficult. I have taken the bike out at highway speeds with no issue. I like that it has room for adjustment in both height and tilt. I'll probably tweak that again when I get time. It looks good and the parts were high quality.

I absolutely love my new 16” medium smoke tint Madstad windshield! It is superbly engineered and the build quality is excellent. Customer service was fantastic. It was easy to install on my Road Glide CVO Ultra at home using the instructions included in the box. The shields were brilliantly packaged with tons of protective plastic bubble wrap etc. Out on the road the wind management is phenomenal. I’m 6’4” and the 16” is perfect for me. It was super easy to adjust the position of the outer windshield to find the sweet spot where there is zero buffeting, but just enough air to cool my face in the North Carolina heat of summer. I got caught in a thunderstorm today on an 3hr ride and the rain deflection was surprisingly good and I was able to ride on the freeway at freeway speed without rain hitting me hard in the face. I won’t be taking this one off anytime soon and I’m really looking forward to riding several days up to Ontario, Canada through the Appalachians. Thank you Madstad! I highly recommend this windshield. I love the looks too. Gives it a sophisticated “grand tourer” look!

I recently purchased a, new to me 2019 Yamaha Tracer 900. It came with the stock windshield, which is a low windshield, allowing the helmet to take the full brunt of the wind. I wrote it like this for a couple weeks while my Madstad was in the works. The last full height windshield was a GIVI that I had on a Vstrom. The Madstad outperforms the other guy hands down. I’m impressed, good work guys.

Took longer than I had hoped to receive my screen. Approximately one month. But it was worth the wait. Very well made and good looking product. And the quick release feature is very useful.
