  • Madstad Adjustable Windshield System for your BMW F650GS (2005-2007)

    Transform your ride
Madstad’s patented system allows riders to adjust the height and angle of their motorcycle windshield resulting in much smoother airflow, better wind protection and a more comfortable ride than any fixed windshield can provide.

    What's included
Our complete drop-in system is custom-made for the BMW F650GS (2005-2007) and includes everything needed to mount and position the shield.
Your bike will not require any modification.

    • Black aluminum base plate (replaces the stock windshield)
    • A set of Madstad adjustable brackets
    • The acrylic windshield

The Madstad base plate replaces your stock shield and our adjustable brackets bolt to this new base. With the shield separated from the fairing it scoops air up underneath which is critical for eliminating vacuum and turbulence. You can then adjust the new shield for height and angle to dial in the most comfortable airflow, allowing you to ride in total comfort while looking over the top of the shield at any speed.

All Madstad windshields are made from 3/16" (4.5 mm) thick cast acrylic and are available in six different tint colors.

    Colors & sizing
All our windshields come in three color options (clear, medium gray and dark gray), as well as multiple sizes. Here are our best guidelines for measuring to find your optimal windshield size:

    How to measure video: https://youtu.be/biFx4_vVGG4

    1) Review provided photo to determine the measuring point on the bike.

    2) Measure up from the measuring point, maintaining the angle of the forks (two wheeled vehicles, 55-60 degrees for other models).

    3) Select the windshield size that will be aligned to mouth level.

All of our adjustable brackets have at least 2" of up down range to fine tune the fit and about 15 degrees of angle adjustment used to dial in clean air.

    Riding is believing
With the windshield separated from the bike riders now have control over the height and angle of the shield to eliminate the vacuum that is the primary cause of most turbulence. The result? Smooth airflow placed exactly where it’s desired. You can actually get better wind protection with our smaller adjustable shield and look over it rather than through it while comfortably enjoying an open view of the road, at any speed.

    Customer testimonial

"I have been testing it for a month and can fully recommend it. It is a vast improvement over my Cee Bailey's 20" as it can be adjusted up/down and tilted until you find that "sweet spot”. Coverage is excellent, this system is much more rigid and doesn't flop around like my Bailey did, and back pressure is eliminated because of the slot effect created between the plate and the windshield." - J.R

    Monkey Flyscreen

I've been impressed with Madstad items I've used previously and I was especially impressed with the design effort needed to fabricate screen mounting brackets that integrate so nicely on my 2024 Monkey. They were a bit tedious to install due to the location of the original screws that are used to secure the brackets. An open end wrench needs to be used with very short strokes, since their location doesn't allow much room to swing the wrench. The mount brackets fit very well and are barely visible with the screen removed. The screen brackets mate very nicely & snuggly with the mount brackets, with no opportunity for rattles. No modification of either bracket pair was needed during or after their installation. The headlight housing clearance profile at the bottom of the screen provides a very uniform & functional fit-up with a nice clean appearance. I haven't ridden my Monkey since installing the screen, but I have no doubt that it will improve the aerodynamics. I'm very pleased overall with the addition of this Flyscreen and it makes for a nicer Monkey face.

Ok but kind of strange fitment

I bolted the brackets on the angle was all off to mount the windshield so I took the brakets apart thinking maybe they just had assembled them wrong but that was not the case I actually ended up just bending the snot out of the brackets to get the windshield on and I understand that bending them probably made more contact with the windshield and probably holds it down better but this was never mentioned in the instructions and in the pictures on the instructions it clearly showed them bent flat like they’re supposed to be and to make matters worse they really really cheat us on hardware there was only 4 well nuts in the bag and sure that would do the job provided that all of the well nuts on the bike were good but they never are so I ended using the 4 on the bike side and then digging through my box of nuts and 4 regular nuts to hold the windshield to the new bracket and then I ordered a pack of 50 for like $20. Definitely not impressed with the installation problems but it seems like a nice product once it’s installed and that’s why it got 3 stars from me I’d give it 2.5 if that was an option

    Best dang windshield ever

I had seen a few Madstad windshields here and there. I had heard that they were really good too. But, I had never experienced one. The stock windshield was absolutely worthless on both high and low mounting points. I replaced it with another windshield (unnamed) and it was not much better but it was better looking and much more solid. So, I decided to give a Madstad a try on my 2021 KTM 890 Adventure. I watched
a Madstad Youtube video of how to determine the right size/height to purchase for me. Turned out it was spot on for me. The installation was super simple to do as the installation documentation was exceptional and simple. I set it up to the lowest position and the furthest back position after the installation was finished. Something that surprised me was the fit to my bike. I have Bark Busters on my handlebars and there was plenty of clearance and no contact with the windshield. My first ride out on it was to work the next morning and what a difference there was. I have not done any highway/long distance time with it yet but I am sure with what I have experienced so far, it should be a game changer.

    1250GS Madstad Windshield

This is the second Madstad windshield system & I am so happy with it. Went through multiple shields on the Africa Twin before finding these. As soon as I got the GS I was not happy with either the stock or the taller GS windshield. I knew these would work & I wasn't disappointed. Moves the air well & have lots of visibility over the top. No buffeting & would highly recommend these to anyone looking for a system that can be fine tuned in so many ways.

“Before their install, I suffered from the constant, unmitigated buffeting at speeds above 40 mph. Now I can hear the engine, and that's a sound I like!"

“I have a stack of other windshields. I've bought over the years before I discovered the Madstad system, and none of them compare. Do yourself a favor and just buy the Madstad first!"

“Long rides at freeway speeds were the worst because of the buffeting. I installed the 18" Madstad screen, keeping it at the lowest setting, and the buffeting is gone. I now have a nice quiet air flow around my head and upper torso, regardless of speed.”
